Belt Conveyors and Belt Conveyor Systems
Choosing the right type of belt is a very important factor when designing your conveyor system and there a number of things that have to be taken into consideration; the environment in which it is to be situated, the temperature of the surrounding area (does it need to go through any freezing or heat process), the speed needed to run (fixed or variable), the size and weight of your product just to name a few.
After working within the material handling and conveyor industry for a long time now, Haven Conveyors have successfully provided solutions for numerous different types of businesses with conveyors ranging from small light duty for small box and parcel handling to extra heavy duty belt conveyors for bulk handling.
Belt conveyors come in many different forms and offer a controlled flow which guarantees to move products from one point to another unaided. Many types of drive options are available to include underslung, shaft mounted or drum motor. Various conveyor speeds are also available.
FLAT BELT CONVEYORS
Flat bed belt conveyors are an ideal way to keep products under control when a smooth continuous flow is needed due to their ability to handle all sizes and shapes. Generally the sections are either slider bed, roller bed or troughed bed depending on your application.
We offer all types of flat belt conveyors and belt bends from very light duty up to extra heavy duty with hundreds of belt variations as well as the standards such as PVC and rubber. They can be grip-faced, smooth, flighted or ribbed, dependent on the product that is being handled. All our conveyors can be manufactured in aluminium, mild steel or stainless steel.
BELT BENDS
Curved belt conveyors are used to handle products where gravity rollers are unsuitable i.e. for clothing, sacks and delicate items. These belts can be designed to curve up to an 180 degree angle.
TROUGHED AND CHEVRON BELT CONVEYORS
A troughed belt conveyor is a belt conveyor with the edges elevated on the carrying run to form a trough by conforming to the shape of the troughed carrying idlers or other supporting surface.
Troughed conveyors can be used for transporting numerous types of products including boxes, sacks, tote pans, steel components, plastic components and various other bulk items and they can also be used for packing or assembly of items.
The belts are generally PVC, rubber and chevron and run on steel slider beds or roller beds. Drives can be at discharge end or underslung at any point along the conveyor and set horizontally or at inclines up to 30 degrees max, depending on the product.
Heavy duty troughed belt conveyors are used for bulk or granular products - sand, gravel, steel swarf, plastic and rubber granules.
